John “Perp” Vaquerano

Co-Founder | CEO

John Vaquerano, co-founder of Type3 Solutions, Inc., brings two decades of US Marine Corps Tactical Aviation and ground combat element experience to the forefront of fleet management and aviation management technology. At Type3 Solutions, he harnesses this expertise to manage risk, devise creative solutions, and lead teams in delivering exceptional results to clients.

John distinguished himself as a F/A-18 Instructor Pilot, initially teaching fleet aviators to achieve mission success under challenging conditions as a fleet Weapons and Tactics Instructor. He later instructed new Hornet and Super Hornet aviators at both Marine Corps and Navy Fleet Replacement Squadrons. His career is underpinned by a commitment to excellence and innovation, shaped by his education at the U.S. Naval Academy and the UCLA School of Business and Management.

Jacob "OJ" Purdon

Co-Founder

Jacob Purdon, co-founder of Type3 Solutions, Inc., is a distinguished Naval Aviation professional with over two decades of expertise in Navy and Marine Corps F/A-18 operations. As a TOPGUN F/A-18 Instructor, Jacob honed his tactical and instructional skills, significantly impacting pilot training and combat preparedness. His strategic acumen was further showcased during his tenure as the F/A-18 Requirements Officer at Headquarters Marine Corps, Aviation, where he spearheaded modernization and transition plans, influencing high-level defense strategies.

A master in data visualization and problem framing, Jacob employs his deep understanding of operational analytics to drive decisions and innovations. His leadership is underpinned by a Systems Engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy, guiding his approach to solving complex challenges in aviation and beyond.

Edward “Rockhound” Ward III

Chief Technology Officer | Head of Engineering

Ed serves as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Engineering. He turns ideas into reality with vision and a wealth of technical expertise. With over 20 years of product, hardware, software, and AI/ML development experience, Ed brings energy, creativity, passion for technology, and dedication to secure development and information security to drive our technical strategy and product portfolio forward.

Prior to joining Type3, Ed held technical, research and development, product management, and operations leadership roles at U.S. Special Operations Command, Central Intelligence Agency, U.S. Joint Special Operations Command, and Kohler Co.. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Indiana University and a former F/A-18 naval aviator and special operations fire support officer.

Justin “Uber” Archibald, PMP

Chief Security Officer | Senior Specialist, Test and Evaluation

With over 20 years of distinguished service in the United States Marine Corps, Justin has honed a robust skill set in designing, managing, integrating, and assessing sophisticated aviation hardware and software systems. As a weapons school graduate and instructor with over 3000 hours in the F/A-18 A-F and E/A-18G, Justin is renowned for his deep expertise in military aviation specializing in tactics execution and development, program management, and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E).

Justin gained extensive executive leadership experience as a Chief Operating Officer in the private sector. His responsibilities included directing large-scale projects, process improvement analysis, and implementing innovative training and risk management solutions. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science degree from the prestigious Washington State University, he is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) holding multiple Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications. His leadership skills are demonstrated by his ability to navigate complex challenges, manage significant budgets, and inspire teams to achieve synchronized goals, making him a valuable asset to the firm and its clients.

Jonathan “Troll” Clow

Director of Business Development

Jon Clow, Director Business Development, is a former Royal Canadian Air Force pilot with 37+years of military aviation experience. Jon is an A1 Category Qualified Flying Instructor and has commanded at the squadron level. In addition to being a former Program Director of a $6 billion public-private partnership portfolio, he led the reimagining of the RCAF Pilot Training Continuum which increased training capacity by 45% at minimal capital cost. His tenure at NATO was marked by spearheading a monumental organizational shift and the unique integration of agile DevSecOps software tools into NATO's AIRC2 infrastructure.

A career out-of-the-box thinker and conceptualizer, his expertise lies in steering organizational leadership and transformation as well as navigating the innovative ecosystem and collaborative environment. Jon holds a Masters in Defense Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada.

John “Irish” McGlynn

Project Manager and Business Analyst

John is a data expert with a background in mathematics and logistics. He has
experience providing logistical support to F/A-18 squadrons and work centers, including
deploying with and supporting an overseas F/A-18 squadron. Later, he worked at the
Pentagon as a portfolio analyst, demonstrating his skills in data analysis, data
visualization, and executive communication.

John graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Mathematics and earned a
dual Master’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from Boston College. He
most recently completed a certificate in Data Science through the Naval Postgraduate
School. His passion for harnessing data to deliver compelling insights drives him every
day.

Matt “Hoosier” Zentz

Senior Software Architect

Matt Zentz started and led a marketing software company as a technical founder for over 20 years.  He stepped away from that day-to-day leadership role and joined Type3 Solutions in October 2023. As part of the engineering team, Matt helps design and develop enterprise-grade software that focuses on security, usability, and efficiency. Matt graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Computer Science and brings nearly 30 years of software leadership and development experience.

Matt is married with three nearly grown children and a dog named Archie who’s a lazy fetcher and a pathetic tug of war opponent.
